ANNOUNCING Project D.A.R.E. Adventure Therapy WORKSHOP
DATES: MAY 6-8 2008

This unique fun learning experience program will engage participants in a hands-on, experiential tour of our Youth at Risk – Adventure Therapy program at NO COST to participants who are employed by Children’s Aid Societies or other agencies engaged in assessing residential placement options.

Participants will have the opportunity to participate directly in a progression of group trust building, teamwork development, Adventure Activities (Low Ropes Course, Climbing Wall, Cargo Net & High Ropes Course) and reflective experiences. This progression of experiences will serve to provide Placement Coordinators and other persons engaged in matching youth to appropriate residential placements with first hand knowledge of the Youth at Risk / Project D.A.R.E. program and will allow caseworkers to be well equipped to inform clients about the program. This is also a great opportunity to connect with other CAS workers from all over Ontario. Past participants have frequently evaluated the workshop as having an unexpectedly powerful impact on their professional and personal development.

Wendigo Lake Expeditions recently provided a workshop for thirteen Probations Officers. Here are some comments from the workshop:

“The course made me have more confidence in my abilities and myself. I am now not afraid to try something new and challenge myself. ”

“I loved the low ropes course because it really made people work together and be patient with one another. ”

“I was able to try things that typically I would never even consider attempting, and was happy to be pushed out of my comfort zone. ”

“Solo experience helped me clear my mind and bring a lot of things back into perspective – everyone needs to slow down and reflect on life.”

“Thank you for a wonderful experience that I will cherish for all my life. ”

If you have any questions about our workshops or if you would like to register for the May 6th-8th workshop, please call Russell at 705-386-2376 ext 201 or email your enrollment request to info@wendigolake.com.

Thank you very much for your time and we are looking forward to seeing you in May 2008.
